What is the on-hand quantity model?

The on-hand quantity model provides a comprehensive view of stock at each center. On-hand quantity is the total physical stock available, broken down into:

  • Floor quantity — Stock on the sales floor or service area, available for immediate use or sale.

  • Storage quantity — Stock in the back room or storage area.

The on-hand quantity model also tracks:

  • Committed quantity — Stock reserved for pending orders or appointments.

  • In-transit quantity — Stock being transferred between centers via transfer orders.

  • Available quantity — On-hand minus committed and in-transit. This is the stock actually available for new transactions.
