Allow class bookings on the Kiosk after class start time
Overview
Zenoti now supports class bookings on the Kiosk after a class has started. Centers can enable the Kiosk to accept late bookings, allowing guests to book and check in on their own until the class ends.
This capability is useful in the following situations:
A guest arrives after a class has begun and wants to join without waiting at the front desk.
The front desk is occupied, and self-service booking keeps the class roster current.
A center wants to reduce manual reconciliation of walk-in registrations after a class ends.
Late class bookings on the Kiosk are supported only on the new Kiosk. The earlier Kiosk continues to block bookings once a class has started.
Enable late class bookings on the Kiosk
Late class bookings are disabled by default. A center manager enables the setting at the center level.
At the center level, click the Fitness icon.
Navigate to Center Settings > Essentials > Kiosk.
Turn on Allow booking a class after class start.
Click Save.
The Kiosk starts accepting late bookings for classes at this center from the next session.
Book a class on the Kiosk after class start
Once the setting is on, a guest can book into a class that is already in progress from the Kiosk.
On the Kiosk, sign in as the guest.
From the class list, locate the class in progress.
Tap Book Now next to the class.
On the confirmation popup, tap Book Now to confirm the booking.
Tap Close on the success screen.
Note: A guest cannot book a class after it ends. In that case, the Book Now option is disabled and the Kiosk directs the guest to the front desk for assistance.
Behavior with the auto sign-in window
The Kiosk continues to honor the configured check-in window for auto sign-in when it processes a late booking.
If the guest books within the check-in window, the Kiosk signs the guest in automatically. The class roster and attendance update immediately.
If the guest books outside the check-in window, the booking is created in Registered status. Front desk staff completes the sign-in from the Zenoti application.
Front desk behavior
Front desk staff can register or check in a guest for a class at any time, regardless of this setting. The setting governs only self-service bookings placed by guests on the Kiosk.
Considerations
The setting applies only to the new Kiosk. The earlier Kiosk and the Webstore continue to block class bookings after class start.
The setting is scoped to the center. Each center enables it independently based on its class operations.
The Kiosk stops accepting bookings for a class after its scheduled end time.
The setting affects only the booking step. Sign-in status is determined by the existing auto sign-in window.
