Zenoti and TCPA compliance

The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) regulates telemarketing calls, auto-dialed calls, prerecorded calls or messages, text messages, and unsolicited faxes to consumers in the United States. The Act has been in force since 1991. Companies must abide by TCPA regulations and can reach out to consumers only after they consent to receive such calls and messages.

TCPA compliance in Zenoti web and Zenoti Mobile

To be compliant with TCPA, Zenoti Web and Zenoti Mobile provide various settings/options that you, as administrators, front-desk persons, and guests, can use to ensure that guests give their consent to receive calls and messages from businesses with marketing info.

Organization level settings - Set new guest profile to receive marketing text messages (SMS) and Set new guest profile to receive marketing emails are cleared on Zenoti web.

An employee clicks guest details on Zenoti web or mobile and tries to select the checkboxes, Receive marketing messages or Receive marketing email messages on the guest's behalf.

The employee will get an alert saying:

Ensure you take consent from the guest regarding marketing communications you send them emails.

or

Ensure you take consent from the guest regarding marketing communications you send them texts.

Note: Zenoti mobile uses the appropriate label for 'Guest' such as Client or Customers based on organization level settings configured by the administrator.

Note

Based on the organization level settings, the Set new guest profile to receive marketing emails and Set new guest profile to receive marketing text messages (SMS) check boxes are greyed out for specific organizations. These settings are disabled due to TCPA compliance mandated by the following EU (European Union) countries:

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and United Kingdom.
