Change the Payday in Zenoti Integrated Payroll

This article explains how you can change the scheduled payday in Zenoti Integrated Payroll (ZIP). You will learn how to make changes before submitting payroll, what to do if you’ve already submitted it, and how ZIP supports timely and compliant payroll adjustments.

Overview

ZIP gives businesses the flexibility to adjust the payday for a payroll cycle before submission. This ensures payroll can align with operational needs, especially during holidays or unexpected business closures. However, once payroll is submitted, the payday becomes locked. In such cases, you must contact the Zenoti Payroll Operations team to request changes.

Note

ZIP supports Next Day Processing for payroll funding, but changes must be made within specific timeframes to avoid delays.

Change Payday before payroll submission

You can change the payday from one of the following screens:

  • Payroll Input screen (visible after clicking Run Payroll)

  • Payroll Preview screen

Steps to update payday
  1. Navigate to the top-right corner of either screen.

  2. Click the edit icon next to the Payday field.

  3. Select a new date from the calendar.

  4. Click Update to continue with payroll processing as usual.

Rules for selecting a new payday

  • The new payday date must be within 30 calendar days from the pay period end date.

  • Only working days (non-weekends, non-bank holidays) can be selected.

  • Submit payroll no later than 5 PM PT one business day before the selected payday.

Request a payday change after submitting payroll

Once payroll is submitted, the payday is locked and can no longer be changed within the ZIP interface. Payday changes must be handled by the Zenoti team.

  • Include the updated proposed payday and the reason for the change.

  • The team reviews your request and assists you with the next steps.

Post-submission changes may result in processing delays. Contact the team immediately to reduce impact.

Before payroll is submitted

Q: Where can I update the payday in ZIP? 

A. You can update it from the Payroll Input or Payroll Preview screen.

Click the (✏️) icon next to the Payday field in the top-right.

Q: Can I choose any date as payday? 

A. No. The payday must:

  • Be a business day (not a weekend or holiday)

  • Be within 30 days from the pay period end date.

Q: Does ZIP support next-day payroll funding?

A. Yes. ZIP supports Next Day Processing. However, it is recommended to allow one business day as a buffer.

Q: Will adjusting payday affect taxes? 

A. No. Payroll tax calculations are based on pay period dates, not the payday.

After payroll is submitted

Q:  Can I still change the payday after submission? 

A. No. Once payroll is submitted, the payday is locked in the system.

Q: What should I do if I urgently need to change payday? 

A. Email payrolloperations@zenoti.com with new payday and your reason. The team will provide further assistance.

Q: Will a post-submission payday change delay employee payments? 

A. Possibly. There is a risk of delay if the pay day change request is not processed in time. Reach out to the Payroll Operations team immediately.
