Configure payment types for a membership
You can configure a default payment type and a backup payment type to collect membership payments for a guest in Zenoti.
Note
To enable these payment types for memberships, contact your Administrator.
Guests can set up a prepaid or gift card as the payment mode to collect membership fees. When the balance on this card is zero, Zenoti uses the payment types you configure to collect fees. This ensures that the membership is not suspended.
Open the guest profile page for a guest.
Navigate to the Memberships tab.
Select a membership.
Next to Default Payment Method, click Change.
Select one of the following payment types from the Payment Type dropdown list as per the guest’s preference:
Credit Card: The membership payment is collected online using the guest’s credit card.
Direct Debit (ACH): The membership payment is collected online through an account-to-account transfer
Click Update.
Click OK.
The selected mode of payment type appears in the Default Payment Type on the Membership Details page.
Next to Backup Payment Type, click Change Backup.
Select one of the following payment types from the Payment Type dropdown list as per the guest's preference:
Credit Card: The membership payment is collected online using the guest’s credit card.
N/A: The guest pays for the membership fees through an offline payment method (cash, gift card, and so on)
Click Update.
Click OK.
The selected mode of payment type appears in the Backup Payment Type on the Membership Details page.
Important
Zenoti flags credit card payment methods as invalid when:
The card's expiry date is in the past
The card is reported stolen
Payment retries exceed the limit
A caution icon is displayed next to such payment methods. The invalid flag is reset only after the method is updated, or a successful payment is manually taken.
Flagging of payment methods is not done by default. Please contact your Administrator to enable it.
