Manage product barcode

If the manufacturer changes the code frequently, you can add multiple barcodes and have one code as the primary code. Product barcodes can only be added while editing the product. You can print barcode labels only for products that have a barcode assigned.

  1. At the organization level, navigate to Master Data.

  2. Click Products.

  3. Search and select the product for which you want to create a barcode.

  4. In the General tab, locate the Product Barcodes field, and verify if the product has a barcode.

    If the product has at least one barcode assigned to it, you can see The product has 1 barcode(s). When you print barcode labels, this code is printed on the labels.

  5. To add another barcode, click Define Product Barcodes.

  6. Enter a new barcode for the product.

  7. To declare the barcode as the primary barcode, select the Primary checkbox.

    If you want to change the primary barcode, you need to set the current primary barcode to secondary.

    For example: Suppose you have a product with a primary barcode "Barcode1" and you want to make "Barcode2" the primary. Next to "Barcode1", click Yes in the Primary field, then change it to No. Then, while adding "Barcode2", select the Primary checkbox to make it the new primary barcode.

  8. Click Add.

  9. To remove a barcode, click the delete icon next to the barcode.

    Deleting a barcode will remove that specific code from being used to identify the product

    The default barcode cannot be deleted.
