Set or Update Default Pay Day in Zenoti Integrated Payroll (ZIP)
This article explains how to set or update the default payday in Zenoti Integrated Payroll (ZIP). You can define the number of business days after a pay period ends when employees receive their pay.
Overview
Zenoti Integrated Payroll (ZIP) allows you to schedule employee payouts based on a configurable number of business days after the end of each pay period. This flexibility helps you align payroll with operational processes and avoid conflicts with U.S. banking holidays. You can update the default payday setting at any time. ZIP also supports next-day processing if you submit payroll by 5 PM PT on the previous business day.
Prerequisites
Ensure you have Payroll Admin permissions before you update the payout configuration.
Set or update default payday
Follow these steps to change how many business days after a pay period ends your employees will receive their pay.
Go to Employees > Zenoti Integrated Payroll.
Click the Settings icon at the top-right of the ZIP dashboard.
Select the Payout Settings tab.
Enter a number between 2-15of business days in the field labelled When should employees get paid after pay period ends?.
Click Save.
Example business scenarios
Assume the pay period ends on Saturday, June 28, 2025 .
The first business day after the pay period is Monday, June 30, 2025.
Example 1: 2 Business days
Payout Setting: 2 business days
Calculated Payday: Tuesday, July 1, 2025
Submission Deadline: Monday, June 30, by 5 PM PT
Note
This is the earliest possible payday with next-day processing.
Example 2: 4 Business days
Payout Setting: 4 business days
Calculated Payday: Thursday, July 3, 2025
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, July 2, by 5 PM PT
Example 3: 5 Business days (Holiday adjustment)
Payout Setting: 5 business days
Calculated Payday: Friday, July 4, 2025 (U.S. Bank Holiday)
Adjusted Payday: Monday, July 7, 2025
ZIP automatically moves the payday to the next business day when it falls on a holiday.

To pay before the holiday: Set the payday to Thursday, July 3, and submit payroll by Wednesday, July 2, 5 PM PT.
Holiday handling
ZIP automatically adjusts calculated paydays that fall on U.S. bank holidays. The payout moves to the next business day unless you configure an earlier one manually.

Best Practice: Review and update payday settings in advance of holidays. If needed, change payday to an earlier business day and submit payroll by 5 PM PT the previous day .
