Create a class category

Class categories in Zenoti provide a structured way to organize the variety of classes and services offered by your studio, or wellness center. Imagine them as the building blocks of your class that allow you to neatly categorize various offerings for the benefit of both your clients and your operational processes.

For example, 'Yoga' can be a category for your business. After you create a category, you can assign several sub-categories of classes under a parent category.

Required roles: Owner or Administrator

Required permissions: Training > Classes > Add, Edit, and View

To modify a class category, search and click on the category from the Class categories page. Follow the steps mentioned above to modify the fields.

Create a class subcategory

You can group similar classes together by creating a parent category, also known as a Class category. Once you've set up a parent category, you can then create subcategories of classes and assign them to the parent category.

For example, 'Beginner Friendly' can be a subcategory under the parent category of 'Yoga'.

Impacts and considerations
  • If a category already contains a subcategory, it cannot be designated as a subcategory itself. This maintains the integrity of the hierarchical structure, preventing nested subcategories within subcategories.

  • A category cannot be made a subcategory under itself. This restriction avoids circular references and ensures that the category hierarchy remains coherent.
