Gap-free Scheduling
Tip
If you set booking intervals to one hour, they will be displayed in hourly increments from the center's start time to its end time. Gap-free scheduling dynamically arranges the available time slots of service providers to prevent gaps caused by bookings of varying durations, thereby optimizing their schedule for maximum productivity and allowing for more service bookings.
Example
In your center, you have one-hour slots available for booking. Sarah, one of your service providers, begins her day at 9:00 AM, with appointment slots at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, and so on. If a client books a 30-minute massage with Sarah from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM, this creates a 30-minute gap in her schedule (9:30 AM to 10:00 AM). This time slot is not shown as available for online booking.
With gap-free scheduling, service providers like Sarah can avoid these gaps. When enabled on the online booking screens, the system automatically arranges available slots based on appointments booked.
In Sarah's case, with the gap-free scheduling enabled, her availability updates immediately on the online booking screens after a client books a 30-minute massage at 9:00 AM. This means that a new slot is created at 9:30 AM, followed by available slots at 10:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and so on. This way, Sarah can take appointments throughout the day without any unbookable gaps, maximizing her productivity.
Without a gap-free schedule, this is how the guests would view the available slots for Sarah. The 30-minute slot from 9:30 to 10:00 is not shown as available for online booking. | ![]() |
With gap-free schedule enabled, the slots are arranged to ensure that guests can view and book Sarah's services starting from 9:30 onwards. In this scenario, guests can book the time slot from 12:30 to 13:00, provided the service they require can be completed within 30 minutes or less. | ![]() |
With gap-free schedule enabled, if the next booking at 9:30 is also a 30-minute service, Sarah's schedule is arranged automatically to allow guests to book her services from 10:00 onwards. | ![]() |
With gap-free schedule enabled, if the next booking at 9:30 is a 60-minute service, the time slots are automatically arranged to allow guests to book Sarah's services from 10:30 onwards. In this scenario, guests can book the time slot from 12:30 to 13:00, provided the service they require can be completed within 30 minutes or less. | ![]() |
This ensures that all time slots are fully utilized, maximizing booking efficiency and revenue potential.
Note
The slot rearrangements are only applicable to the selected service provider and will not affect the schedules of other providers in the center. In the above scenario, only Sarah's schedule is adjusted within her center, without any impact on other service providers.
