This article explains how to configure guest profile deletion settings for the Customer Mobile App (CMA) and Webstore, allowing businesses to manage Personally Identifiable Information (PII) based on regulatory and operational needs.

Overview

Zenoti offers flexibility in how guest profile deletions are processed when initiated via the Customer Mobile App (CMA) or Webstore. Businesses can either fully delete PII data or retain guest information while marking the profile as deleted. This configuration supports compliance with local data protection regulations while maintaining internal visibility where allowed.

Benefits

Compliance flexibility: Businesses can align with local regulations on data retention.

Applicable to

  • Guest profile deletions initiated from the Webstore

  • Guest profile deletions initiated from the Customer Mobile App (CMA)

How to configure

  1. How to configure: At the organization level, click Configuration.

  2. Navigate to Online Booking > Online Booking Settings > Combined Settings for Webstore V2 and CX V3.

  3. Under Guest Profile Deletion Behavior, select one of the following options:

    • Delete PII data: This is the default option. When selected, the system permanently deletes the guest profile and removes all PII when the guest clicks Delete Profile in Webstore or CMA.

    • Retain PII data: When selected, the system voids the guest profile instead of deleting PII. The profile is marked as deleted, but guest PII remains visible to staff.

Important: Enable this option only if your local data protection laws permit retaining PII after guest-initiated deletion.
