Configure Provider-Specific Durations for Services and Add-ons

Zenoti allows you to configure provider-specific durations for both services and add-ons in Zenoti, allowing for more precise scheduling based on the employee’s skill level or speed. This ensures that appointment durations match the time each employee takes to perform a service or add-on.

For instance, let’s say Cathy and Debra both perform haircuts but with different times:

  • Cathy, a senior provider, takes 20 minutes to complete the service.

  • Debra, a junior provider, takes 30 minutes to complete the same service.

With provider specific durations enabled, you can ensure that Cathy’s haircut appointments are scheduled for 20 minutes and Debra’s for 30 minutes. This helps in planning and scheduling based on how long each employee takes for the service.

Steps to enable provider-specific durations

  1. At the organization level, click the Configuration icon.

  2. Navigate to Appointments > Bookings > Employee rules.

  3. Switch on the Enable provider-specific duration for services toggle.

  4. Switch on the Enable provider-specific duration for Add-ons toggle.

  5. Click Save.

Impacts and considerations

  • The Enable provider specific duration for Add-ons setting cannot be enabled unless Enable provider specific duration for services is enabled.

  • The Enable provider specific duration for Add-ons setting is disabled by default for all existing and new orgs.

  • Once enabled, this setting is applicable for all booking interfaces (CMA, Webstore, ZMA, FDO).

  • The setting cannot be turned off if any employees have provider-specific add-on durations configured.

  • Once this setting is enabled and durations are configured, existing appointments will not be updated with the new durations for add-ons. This also applies to both service and add-on service settings.
