Block custom payments for selected package types

Organizations can restrict the use of certain custom payment methods (such as EMI, Wallet, or other options) for specific item types such as day packages, custom packages, or series packages. This helps ensure compliance with business policies. Zenoti enforces these restrictions during invoice creation and payment distribution. To restrict custom payments for selected package types, refer to Allow custom payments.

Payment validations

Scenario 1: If a front desk operator attempts to apply a restricted custom payment method to an item type that is not allowed, the system blocks the transaction and displays an error message: This payment method cannot be used for [Item Type]. Please choose a different payment method. This validation helps front-desk staff avoid applying payments to ineligible items, ensuring proper adherence to payment rules and accurate revenue tracking.

Scenario 2: Custom payments are disallowed for series packages. If an invoice includes a $10 service and a $20 series package, and the user attempts to apply $15 from another method and $15 from a custom payment, the system identifies that $5 of the custom payment would be allocated to the series package. As this violates the configured restriction, the system generates an error: The custom payment amount on this invoice cannot exceed $10. Adjust the amount to continue. The transaction is not processed until the payment distribution is corrected.
