Configure tenure
This article explains how to configure tenure-based incentives for long-term employees in Zenoti. You can set up commission slabs that reward employees based on the number of years they’ve worked at your organization. This is a powerful tool for retention, motivation, and rewarding loyalty. You can define commission percentages for each tenure milestone (e.g., 1 year, 2 years, etc.), and Zenoti will automatically apply them during payroll calculations.
Overview
Tenure-based commissions allow organizations to reward employees who have remained with the business for a specific duration. These recurring incentives are paid as a percentage of the employee’s revenue contribution once they hit predefined service milestones (e.g., after 1, 2, or 3 years). This approach helps boost retention and employee satisfaction while encouraging long-term commitment.
Key terms
Tenure: The length of time an employee has been working in the organization.
Tenure Commission: A commission calculated as a percentage of the revenue generated by the employee, based on their tenure.
Prerequisites
The employee's start date must be accurately recorded in Zenoti for tenure to be calculated correctly.
At the center level, click the Configurations icon.
Search and select Tenure from the Employees section.
Enter the commission percentage and from the drop-down list, select the number of years (of service).
Click Add.
To remove a commission slab, click the Delete (red cross) icon.
How does Zenoti calculate tenure commission?
Zenoti calculates tenure commission as a percentage of the total revenue generated by the employee over a pay period.
For example, you may give a tenure commission of 5% to an employee who has completed two years in the organization. If the employee brought in a revenue of $400 in a pay period and completed two years, then the employee earns a tenure commission of $20 (5% of 400).
How does tenure commission impact employee reports?
The Employee Payroll Details report displays the tenure commission in the Bonus and Penalty Details column.
To view all the columns of the report, always export these reports - the UI shows fewer columns.
