Control access for guests with suspended memberships

A suspended membership has been paused, typically because of outstanding dues. Zenoti lets you control what guests with suspended memberships can still do — whether they can use membership benefits, register for classes, or purchase a new membership.

  1. At the organization level, navigate to Configurations.

  2. Go to the Essentials section under Memberships.

  3.  Access Suspended membership access.

The list of settings is covered below.

Allow redemption from suspended memberships

When this setting is on, guests can still use credits and discounts from a suspended membership. Turn this off to freeze those benefits. The guest can still pay out of pocket or use any other active membership they hold.

This setting is on by default.

Restrict class bookings for guests with suspended memberships

When this setting is on, guests with one or more suspended memberships cannot register for classes.

  • Webstore: Guest is blocked from booking

  • Front desk Web/ZMA: An alert is displayed, and the front desk can choose to override and proceed with booking

  • Add-on guest: If the primary guest tries to add a guest with a suspended membership to the class roster, that add-on is blocked.

To restrict class bookings for guests with suspended memberships:

  1. At the organization level, navigate to Configurations > Memberships > Essentials.

  2. Go to Suspended membership access.

  3. Turn on the Restrict class bookings option under Enforce restrictions for guests with suspended membership.

  4. Click Save.

This setting is off by default.

Restrict new membership purchases for guests with suspended memberships

When this setting is on, guests with one or more suspended memberships cannot purchase a new membership. Guests can still purchase products, packages, prepaid cards, gift cards, and services.

To restrict new membership purchases for guests with suspended memberships:

  1. At the organization level, navigate to Configurations > Memberships > Essentials.

  2. Go to Suspended membership access > Enforce restrictions for guests with suspended membership.

  3. Enable Restrict new membership purchase for guests with suspended memberships.

  4. Click Save.

This setting is off by default.
