Allow employees to request missed check-in

This article explains how to enable employees to raise requests from the MyZen app to add a missed check-in or modify an existing one for a past day. When enabled, the Request changes to clock in option becomes available in the employee's MyZen schedule, and the request is routed to a manager for review and approval.

Overview

Employees occasionally forget to clock in or clock out, or when their recorded times need correction — for example, after a system outage, a forgotten punch, or an off-site start. If an employee misses a clock-in or clock-out for a past day, they can raise a request from MyZen to have the times added or corrected, instead of needing a manager to edit the time sheet directly.

  1. At the center level, navigate to Configuration > Employee mobile apps > MyZen.

  2. Under Check in, turn on the Allow employees to request missed checkin toggle.

  3. Click Save.

Consider an employee who forgot to clock out on any day. From MyZen, the employee submits a request for the missing day with the correct times — for example, 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The request moves into a Pending state and is sent to the manager for review. While the request is pending, the Edit option is disabled for that day's entry — the employee cannot modify or resubmit the same request until the manager acts on it. Once the manager approves or declines the request:

  • If approved, the clock-in and clock-out times are updated on the employee's time sheet.

  • If declined, the original (missing or incorrect) entry remains, and the employee can raise a fresh request if needed.

  • In both cases, the employee receives a push notification with the outcome.

Once enabled, employees can submit a request from MyZen that is subject to a manager's approval. Refer to Request changes to check-ins for more information.
