Payments and invoices
Enable excess amount to be collected as cashback or tips
When a guest overpays for a credit card payment, the front-desk staff can either accept the excess amount as cashback or tips. To enable this, the business can configure a prompt to appear in the Point of Sale (POS) system when the scenario arises.
Example - When a guest pays $30 for a $25 service, POS will prompt the front-desk staff to ask if the extra $5 should be accepted as a tip or a cashback.
If the guest agrees on tip, the staff can select the tip option.
If the guest says no to a tip and wants cashback, the staff can select the cashback option.
At the center level, click the Configurations icon.
Search for and select Enable Cashback.
Enable the setting.
Click Save.
To disable cashback, turn off this toggle.
Configure manager authorization to adjust discounts
Enable this option to alert front-desk staff for manager authorization when adding or updating discount in Point of Sale.
Required roles: Any role with access to the Administrator mode.
Required permissions: None
At the organization level, click the Configurations icon.
Search for and select Make it mandatory to get manager authorization to adjust discounts.
Enable this setting.
Click Save.
To disable it, turn off the toggle. This will allow front-desk staff to add or update the discount without manager authorization.
Impacts and considerations
Allows strategic use of discounts considering factors like guest loyalty, appointment value, or special promotions before authorizing adjustments.
Only allows managers to modify discounts, reducing accidental or intentional misuse of manual discounts by the front-desk staff.
