Advance Deposit
Tip
Advance deposit are payments collected at the time of booking a service online to ensure that guests commit to their appointments by paying a portion, or sometimes the full amount, in advance. This protects your business against lost revenue from no-shows and last-minute cancellations.
Example
Ashley, a guest, wants to book a $250 HydraFacial service. This service requires the use of the HydraFacial machine, which needs to be available. Since the machine is available, Ashley sees a deposit of fifty percent is required. She proceeds to pay the deposit and book the appointment. | ![]() |
On the day of the appointment, Ashley will avail the service and proceeds to the front-desk to pay the remaining balance. When the FDO opens the invoice, they receive an alert asking if they would like to apply the prepaid deposit that was collected. Once they confirm, Ashley pays the remaining payment. If Ashley cancels the appointment, the deposit she paid is non-refundable. This policy helps offset the cost of the machine that was blocked for Ashley. | ![]() |
