Hardware and software requirements to run Zenoti

Zenoti is a cloud-based application. This means that no files are installed on your computer. Instead, you log into Zenoti from a web page using your login credentials. Before using Zenoti, ensure your computers and devices meet or exceed the following requirements.

Note

Note that these system requirements are subject to change.

Hardware requirements

Recommended CPU

Zenoti works optimally with Windows machines that use Intel i3, i5 and i7 processors. If you run a busy center with many appointments (100+) investing in fast machines will make operations smoother for you.

Recommended memory

  • Minimum RAM: 8 GB

  • Recommended RAM: 12-16 GB

    • 12-16 GB for centers that manage 100+ appointments a day

    • 16 GB for centers that manage 200+ appointments a day

Page file size

If your center manages over 200+ appointments a day, on the drive where the operating system is not installed, set the minimum page file size to 1.5x of RAM and the maximum to 3x of RAM.

To learn how to change the page file size, see the section Change the size of virtual memory of this article.

Recommended screen resolution

To view Appointment Book optimally, we recommend that you set the screen resolution to 1280x1024 (in pixels) or higher. Screen scaling should be 100%. Learn how to change the screen resolution

Power-saving options in laptops and other devices (that run on battery), slow down Appointment Book and other pages in Zenoti. This is true whether the device is connected to the external power source, or is working on its battery.

Power-saving options and Zenoti's performance

We recommend that you turn off or disable the power-saving option in your devices to improve performance.

Software requirements

Recommended Operating systems (OS)

  • Windows: Windows 10 or later, with the latest Windows Updates applied.

  • Mac: Mac OS 10.6 or later

Recommended browsers

  • Google Chrome (version 92 or later)

Our testing suggests that Chrome provides the best performance when running Zenoti.

  • Mozilla Firefox (version 90 or later)

If you use biometric devices, use only Mozilla Firefox.

  • Safari for Mac only (version 13 or later)

  • Edge (version 95 or later)

We do not recommend using Internet Explorer and Opera.

Caution

If you’ve integrated a credit card processing device with a provider other than Zenoti Payments, follow these steps:

  • Disable auto-updates: Turn off any automatic update features in your browser.

  • Check dependent technology: Disable any related technologies (such as Java).

Browser configurations

You must:

Browser plugins

We recommend you do not add too many browser plugins as they run in the background and eat into your internet speed. You must periodically review the browser plugins and disable the ones you do not require. Learn how to disable plugins in Mozilla Firefox and Chrome.

Internet requirements

Internet speed

Minimum

  • Download: 6 Mbps

  • Upload: 2 Mbps

Recommended

  • Download: 15-30 Mbps

  • Upload: 5-10 Mbps

Internet splitters

If you allow your guests and employees to use the internet at your center for browsing from their personal devices, we recommend that you create two separate networks, one for your guests and employees for their personal use, and one for Zenoti with an internet speed of at least 15-30 Mbps (Download) and 5-10 Mbps (Upload). This way, you can limit the chances of service degradation due to network congestion.

Tip

To verify if your internet and hardware meet our recommendations, do the following:

  • Run an upload/download speed test from Speedtest and confirm the upload and download speed.

  • Run a performance benchmark test from PassMark Software - PC Benchmark and Test Software to check your computer's performance. The CPU Mark on machines for optimal performance should be greater than 7500 (Typically an Intel i3 processor or better).
