Configure alert sounds for Visit notifications

The Visits page supports configurable alert sounds for check-in notifications. Businesses can assign a Standard or Urgent sound to each red severity alert. This helps front desk staff identify and respond to critical check-in situations without relying on screen visibility alone.

Alert sounds are configurable at the organization level, with the option to override settings at the center level. For more information on check-in alerts, refer to the Alerts on the Visits Page article.

Alert sound options

Two alert sound options are available for red severity alerts.

Sound

Description

Standard

The default sound for red severity alerts. Plays when a member checks in and a red alert is triggered.

Urgent

A more distinct, high-priority sound for critical red severity alerts, such as outstanding balances or inactive memberships. This option is not available for yellow or green severity alerts.

Note

Alert sounds apply to red severity alerts only. Yellow and green severity alerts display N/A in the Alert Sound column.

How alert sound precedence works

When a member's check-in triggers multiple alerts at the same time, Zenoti plays only one sound. The Urgent sound always takes precedence over the Standard sound. Only one sound plays per check-in, regardless of the number of alerts triggered.

Examples:

  • A member checks in with an outstanding balance (Urgent) and no profile picture (Standard). The Urgent sound plays.

  • A member checks in with two Standard alerts. The Standard sound plays once.

  • A member checks in with no alerts. The standard successful check-in sound plays.

Configure alert sounds

Alert sounds are configured from the check-in alert settings at the organization or center level.

Configure at the organization level

  1. At the organization level, navigate to Configurations > Fitness.

  2. Under the Essentials section, turn on the Allow editing of alert labels and configurations toggle.

  3. Click Customize Visits page alerts.

  4. The alert configuration table opens.

  5. In the Alert Sound column, select Standard or Urgent for each red severity alert.

Override at the center level

Centers can override the organization-level alert sound configuration with their own settings.

  1. At the center view and navigate to Configurations > Fitness.

  2. Under the Essentials section, turn on the Allow editing of alert labels and configurations toggle.
