Add Timed Add-Ons to a Segmented Service in the Appointment Book
This article explains how to add timed add-ons while booking a segmented service in the Appointment Book.
Overview
This enhancement allows front desk staff to easily attach timed add-ons to segmented services during appointment booking.
Key terms
Segmented Service: A service divided into multiple segments, often performed by different providers or across different time blocks.
Add-On: An additional service that can be attached to a primary service. Add-ons may have zero duration or a defined service duration.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that:
A service is configured as a segmented service.
One or more add-ons are associated with the segmented service.
Add-ons are configured with either zero minutes or a defined duration.
You have permission to create and edit appointments in the Appointment Book.
To add an add-on to a segmented service during booking:
Navigate to the Appointment book.
Click New appointment.
Select the required segmented service for the guest.
In the Add Ons pop-up, select one or more add-on services.
Click OK to confirm your selection.
Click Save to book the appointment.
Note
Add-ons can only be selected during appointment creation.
When editing an existing appointment, add-ons cannot be swapped or replaced.
When editing an existing appointment, add-ons cannot be swapped or replaced.
During editing, an add-on can only be deleted, not changed to a different add-on.
The Add Ons pop-up does not reappear when modifying the appointment.
The segmented service can still be performed and billed even if the add-on is deleted later.
Considerations
The Add Ons pop-up appears only when timed add-ons are associated with the segmented service.
Selected add-ons are displayed within the first segment of the segmented service in the Appointment Book.
The total appointment duration reflects the combined duration of the service and any selected timed add-ons.
Add-ons configured with zero duration may also appear in the selection list.
