For payroll purposes, all employees at your center must clock in and clock out at the start and end of each shift. Failure to effectively manage the employee clock-in or clock-out may result in payroll errors.

To clock an employee in or out

🚩 Important: Only scheduled employees are listed in Appointment Book for clock-in and clock out. This means you must first set up the employee schedule and then try to clock-in or clock-out employees.

1. In the top-right corner of the Appointment Book, click the Employee Clock In/Out icon.

The Select Employee window opens.
2. Click the Employee drop-down list and select the name of the employee you want to clock in or out.

3. Enter your username and password for authorization. 

If you are clocking in, Zenoti automatically captures the employee's clock-in time.

The name of the employee appears in green if the employee clocks in on time and in red, if the employee clocks in late. If the employee is scheduled to work, but did not clock-in yet, the employee block turns red.
Note: The employee block appears grey for employees who are not scheuled to work on a given day.

Tip: If you don't want to use these color highlights, turn off the setting, Enable visual indicators related to employee attendance in Appointment Book from Admin > Organizations > Center > Settings > Appointment Book

If the selected employee is already clocked in, Zenoti clocks her out.

When your organization prevents providers from clocking out during a service, the providers must complete their ongoing services before clocking out.

Note: On a given day, you can extend an employee’s schedule even if the employee has already clocked in. For example, if the employee was due to work from 9 AM to 4 PM, you can now edit this to say, 9 AM to 6 PM. Only users who have the appropriate permissions to edit employee schedules can extend the employee schedules.
Note: You still cannot make changes to the employee’s status after the employee has clocked in. For example, if the employee’s status is Working, you cannot change it to Leave or Weekly Off.
