Address Verification Service or AVS allows businesses to minimize the risk of fraudulent activities on Card-Not-Present (CNP) transactions such as online payments or Point of Sale payments.

During a Card-Not-Present transaction, the front-desk staff is prompted to collect the guest's address to proceed with the payment. If the address is correct, the agreed interchange fees are applied.

If the address is invalid or if the address is missing, the transaction is treated as AVS non-compliant, and a higher processing fee is charged to your business by Zenoti.

To avoid higher transaction costs, we recommend you take the following steps:

  1. Enable AVS check for Zenoti Payments

  2. Configure email/text template for requesting guest's address

  3. Check AVS Details for Saved Cards report and collect missing addresses from the guests.

Things to remember

  • To avoid higher AVS downgrade fees, ensure correct address details of the guest are collected by the front-desk staff when saving a new card in Zenoti or when collecting payment for a saved card that does not have an address.

  • Incorrect address details may result in a declined transaction.
