It is important to track parameters such as the source of the traffic (the website, ad, or search engines from which people found your site), medium, and campaign on your website and Webstore to shape up the search engine optimization, marketing and social media strategies for your website. It also helps you to gain insights on user data such as the time of visit, pages visited, and time spent on each of the webpages, referring site details (such as the web address of a website that links to your website), online campaigns that bring in the most traffic, online campaigns that bring in the most conversions, the success rate of a campaign, and the situations which led to a guest from dropping the action before an appointment was booked.

When a user clicks your ad from a social media page, and these parameters do not get carried forward to the pages in your website that the user visits (such as your Services page, Webstore, or Products page), you will lose valuable information on metrics such as campaign success and conversions.

To ensure that the tracking parameters are carried forward, Zenoti provides you the following two code snippets:

  • Code Snippet 1: Fetches all links to Zenoti Webstore in your website and adds information about the current utm properties to them so that the tracking parameters are carried forward.

  • Code Snippet 2: Fetches all the links in your website (such as links to your Products page, Webstore, and Services) and adds information about the current utm properties to them so that the tracking parameters are carried forward to all pages the user visits.

Scenario 1: You want to carry forward the tracking parameters from your website to Webstore.

  1. Download this compressed file (.zip) and extract it.

  2. Copy the code snippet.

  3. Add the code snippet in all the pages of your website.

The custom script works in two steps:

    1. Saves the tracking parameters from the Website.

    2. Dynamically appends the parameters to the Webstore URL.

Scenario 2: You want to carry forward the tracking parameters from any page in your website to any other page in your website (such as Webstore, Services page, and Products page).

  1. Download this compressed file (.zip) and extract it.

  2. Copy the code snippet.

  3. Add the code snippet in all the pages of your website.

The custom script works in two steps:

    1. Saves the tracking parameters from the Website.

    2. Dynamically appends the parameters to all URLs in your website.

Note:

  • This code snippets will not add the tracking parameter information to URLs contained in buttons.

  • For this code snippets to work, the Google Analytics account for your website and your Webstore should be the same.
