The Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) regulates telemarketing calls, auto-dialed calls, prerecorded calls or messages, text messages, and unsolicited faxes to consumers in the United States. The Act has been in force since 1991. Companies have to abide by TCPA regulations and can reach out to consumers only after they give their consent to receive such calls and messages.
