If you have an older version of triPOS software (5.14.2.20002) installed, and you are upgrading to the recommended version 5.21, you must do the following:

  1. Uninstall the existing version of triPOS

  2. Delete the existing config file

  3. Install the new version of triPOS

1. Uninstall the existing version of triPOS:

a. On your desktop, navigate to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall a Program.

b. From the list of programs, select triPOS and click Uninstall.
The triPOS software is uninstalled.

2. Delete the existing config file

a. Navigate to C > Program Files (x86) > Vantiv > triPOS service.

b. Locate and delete the file triPOS.config

3. Install the new triPOS version

Take the following steps:

a. Keep your Vantiv account information handy

b. Download the recommended version of triPOS software

c. Perform the upgrade

d. Restart the triPOS service

e. Verify if you can process the payments

a. Keep the Vantiv account information handy

  1. At the center-level, navigate to Admin > Payments > Settings.

  2. To view more options, click the drop-down arrow.

3. Click Registered Details.
The Registered Details section opens.

4. Make a note of the values in Developer Key, Developer Secret, Account
ID, Acceptor ID, and Account Token.

b. Download the latest version of triPOS 5.21 software:

c. Perform the Upgrade.
Note: Please keep your card reader connected to the PC on which you
are installing the latest version of triPOS.

  1. On you desktop PC, locate the downloaded compressed file of triPOS.

  2. Right-click the setup file and from the context menu, select Extract All.

  3. Specify the location where you want the file to be extracted and click Extract.
    The files are extracted to your desired location.

4. Double click the extracted setup file.
The triPOS Software License Agreement window appears.

5. Select the check box, I agree to the terms and conditions.

6. Click Install.
The system requests your consent to make changes to your computer.

7. Click Yes.
8. Click Next.

The Configuration Information screen appears.

9. Enter the following information:

  • Acceptor ID

  • Account ID

  • Account Token

10. Click Next.

11. Click Install.

12. After the installation is complete, click Finish.
A success message appears.

13. Click Close.
You have successfully installed the latest version of triPOS on your PC.

d. Restart the triPOS service

Note: Please keep your card reader connected to the PC on which you
are restarting triPOS software.

  1. Open the Command Prompt (Windows + R), and in the Open box, enter services.msc.

  2. Click OK.

  3. In the Services screen locate and select triPOS.NET.

  4. From the Services (Local) panel, select Restart the Service.

The triPOS service restarts and Config file is updated.

e. Verify if you can process payments

Without making any changes to the config file, verify if you can collect payments. If you are unable to process payments, contact Zenoti Support.
