After you complete installing or upgrading the triPOS software, you must perform the following steps:

  1. Make a note of the developerKey and the developerSecret.
    a. Navigate to Admin > Payments > Settings.
    b. From the Registered Details section, note the Developer Key, Developer Secret, Account ID, Acceptor ID, and Account Token.

  2. Edit the triPOS.config file and save it.

  3. Restart the triPOS service.

To edit the triPOS.config file

1. Open the triPOS.config file in Notepad as an Administrator.
a. On the Start menu, search for Notepad.
b. Right-click on the search result and select Open as Administrator.
Notepad opens.

c. Go to File > Open.
d. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Vantiv\triPOS Service and
select triPOS.config.

2. Make the following changes:

  • Verify the developer key: Press Ctrl + F and in the search bar, enter <developerkey>.- Ensure the values for the developer key are same as the ones in the Registered Details section. If not, copy the values present in the Registered Details section and paste in the triPOS.config file.

  • Verify the developer secret: Press Ctrl + F and in the search bar, enter <developersecret>. - Ensure the values for the developer secret are same as the ones in the Registered Details section. If not, copy the values present in the Registered Details section and paste in the triPOS.config file.

  • Change the value for <testmode>: Press Ctrl + F and in the search bar, enter <testmode>. - Change the value from true to false.
    Eg: <testmode>false</testmode>.
    Note: If the value is already false, do not make the changes.

  • Listening Port
    1. Search for <listeningPort>.
    2. Make a note of the port number. For example, 8081. You will need this to bind
    the self signed certificate (explained in the following section).
     

  • Set secure version of HTTP
    1. Search for <useHttps>false</useHttps>
    2. Change to <useHttps>true</useHttps>
       

  • Set CORS
    1. Search for <corsAllowedOrigins />.
    2. Change to <corsAllowedOrigins>*</corsAllowedOrigins> .

    Note: If you do not find <corsAllowedOrigins />, search for corsAllowedOrigins .
    You will find it as part of a comment.

    You must add <corsAllowedOrigins>*</corsAllowedOrigins> as a code below the comment.

  • Set EMV
    1. Search for <isEMVSupported> and verify if the value is true. If not change the value to true as the example below.
    Eg: <isEmvSupported>true</isEmvSupported> .
     

  • Set TIPS
    1. Search for <isTipAllowed>false</isTipAllowed> .
    2. Change to <isTipAllowed>True</isTipAllowed> .
      

  • Set the suggested TIP amounts
    1. Search for <tipSelections>15%, 18%, 20%, none</tipSelections> .
    2. Replace none with other to allow for custom tips as follows:
        <tipSelections>10%, 15%, 20%, other</tipSelections> .

  • Lane ID
    Search for laneId="1"  and remove the "<!--".
    Original Value: <!--<serialLane description="Serial Lane Example" laneId="1">

    Updated Value: <serialLane description="Serial Lane Example" laneId="1">.

  • Pin Paddle Message (Optional)
    Add your business name to make it visible on the terminals after boot up. For example:
    Original Value: <pinPadIdleMessage>Welcome to YourCompany</pinPadIdleMessage>
    Updated Value: <pinPadIdleMessage>Welcome to Zenoti</pinPadIdleMessage>
    For the above example, the device shows "Welcome to Zenoti" after the boot up.

  • CSC Support
    Update this to true.
    Original Value: <isCscSupported>false</isCscSupported>
    Updated Value: <isCscSupported>true</isCscSupported>

  • Debit Refund
    Update this to true.
    Original Value: <isDebitRefundSupported>false</isDebitRefundSupported>
    Updated Value: <isDebitRefundSupported>true</isDebitRefundSupported>

  • Healthcare Supported
    Update this to true.
    Original Value: <isHealthcareSupported>false</isHealthcareSupported>

    Updated Value: <isHealthcareSupported>true</isHealthcareSupported>
     

  • Update the COM port

  1. Search for <comPort> .

  2. Change the value to <comPort>COM9</comPort> .

  • Update the driver

For MX915 and MX925:

  1. Search for <driver> .

  2. Update the driver value to VerifoneFormAgentXpi .
    Example: <driver>VeriFoneFormAgentXpi</driver>

3. Restart triPOS Service.

a. Search for Services in windows.
Note: If Services do not show, search for Admin Tools; Services are in the Admin  
Tools file.

b. Right click and click Run as admin.

c. Find triPOS service in the list.

d. Right click and restart.

e. The device restarts and shows the company name.
