You can accept card payments on desktop POS running on Windows by connecting a Miura card reader.
In this article, you will learn how to connect the Miura card reader via USB or Bluetooth. 

Before you Begin

Before you connect the Miura Card Reader via USB or Bluetooth, you must be aware of the following:

To Connect Miura Card Reader via USB

Important: You can connect via USB only if your Miura card reader is USB enabled.

1. Ensure that Miura card reader is in USB Serial Mode as described here.

2. Connect the Miura card reader to your desktop via USB.
    You might be prompted to install a driver for the USB communication with
     the Miura card reader. 

3. Open Device Manager.
    In the Device Manager, Miura should appear under
    Ports (COM & LPT)
named Gadget Serial or PI USB to Serial

4. Make a note of the COM Port. In the above image, the COM Port is COM4.
    You will need it in the next step - editing the config file.

To Connect Miura Card Reader via Bluetooth

1. On the card reader, hold down the Bluetooth button.
   The button flashes blue indicating that it is now in Pairing Mode

2. On your computer, click Start > Settings > Control Panel.

3. Double-click Bluetooth Devices.

4. Open Bluetooth Settings, and then click Add.
    The Add Bluetooth Device Wizard appears.

5. Select My device is set up and ready to be found and then click Next.

6. From the list of devices, right-click Miura card reader and click Connect.

7. In the Bluetooth Settings, under COM Ports, Miura should appear with an
   Outgoing COM Port
(e.g. COM10) named "Miura XXXXXX 'Serial Port'"

8. Make a note of the COM Port.
    You will need it in the next step - editing the config file
