FAQ related to Creating Gift Card Promotions

This section addresses the general queries you may have while creating gift card promotions.

While creating gift card promotion, what happens if I did not enter any Minimum price for gift card?

  • If you have not entered any amount for Minimum, Zenoti takes zero as the minimum price. Assume you have entered $300 for Maximum, $10 for Bonus value and added the rule. Eligible guests will get $10 bonus value on purchase of a gift card priced $0 to $300. 
  • Similarly, if you have not entered any maximum number then, Zenoti considers any price greater than the minimum number as the maximum. Assume you have entered $50 for Minimum, $5 for Bonus value and added the rule. Eligible guests will get $5 bonus value on purchase of any gift card priced $50 or above.

Can a center run more than one gift card promotion at the same time?
No. A center can have only one active promotion in a given time. If you want to activate a new promotion for a center, open the details of existing promotion and unselect the center, come back to the details of new promotion and select the center under the Centers tab. New promotion is activated for the center.

I want to temporarily deactivate a gift card promotion. How can I do that?
You can deactivate a gift card promotion at organization level only. Go to the Gift card promotions page. The page opens in Edit mode. Go to the Centers tab and unselect the checkbox: Gift Card Promotion Status. 

Can I delete a gift card promotion?
You can delete a gift card promotion at organization level only. Go to the Gift card promotions page. The page opens in Edit mode. Click the Delete button on the page to delete the promotion.

Our organization has included our center for a gift card promotion. However, we want to opt out temporarily. Can we do it ourselves, without requesting the organization to opt us out?
Yes. At center level, go to the Gift Card Promotions page. Go to the Centers tab and unselect your center.
Note: At center level, you cannot modify anything other than unselecting your center from the promotion.

Is there an option to give a pre-numbered physical gift card as a bonus gift card?
No. Bonus gift card is a virtual card generated for the eligible buyers.

FAQ related to Rolling Out Bonus Gift Cards to Guests

This section addresses the general queries you may have on how bonus gift cards are rolled out to guests.

How will I know if a guest is eligible for a gift card promotion?
When you take payment, if there is a gift card in the invoice and an active promotion for your center, Zenoti shows a message ‘The customer may be eligible for a Bonus Gift Card (View Terms and Conditions)’. To see the rules related to the promotion, click the View Terms and Conditions link.

Will the bonus gift card number and value appear on the receipt before a guest makes payment?
No. Bonus gift card number and value appear on the receipt only after the invoice is closed.

If a guest bought the gift card to gift it to others, who will receive the bonus gift card - the buyer or the recipient of the gift card?
The buyer of the gift card will receive the bonus gift card. The card reflects under the Gift Cards tab in Guest Profile of the buyer of the gift card.

Is there an option to give a pre-numbered physical gift card as a bonus gift card?

Can I add more balance to a guest’s bonus gift card?
Yes. If your role permits then, you can add new balance to bonus gift card, from the Pre-paid/Gift Card Details page. Once issued, a bonus gift card is same as a regular gift card. You could change the expiry, add more balance, and guests could redeem same like any other gift card.

In a group appointment, if more than one guest purchased gift cards, will the bonus gift cards reflect on the group invoice?
No. Guests who earned bonus gift cards will receive the cards in their individual invoices.

Can I reopen an invoice related to gift cards purchase? What happens to bonus gift card if I reopen the invoice?
You cannot reopen an invoice if any of the gift cards (including bonus gift card) are partially or fully redeemed. If none of the cards are redeemed, you can reopen the invoice. Bonus gift card is deleted on reopening the invoice. When the invoice is closed again, if there is a gift card purchase that satisfies the rules of the promotion, guest may receive a bonus gift card again.

If a guest redeemed the bonus gift card, can we reopen the invoice related to the bonus gift card?
No. If a bonus gift card is redeemed, the invoice corresponding the the bonus gift card cannot be reopened.

Will a buyer receive bonus gift card in an email?

  • If a guest purchased the gift card at your center and has earned a bonus gift card, you can print the bonus gift card. However, email will not be sent to the buyer. 
  • If a guest purchased the gift card from online and earned a bonus gift card,    
        -
    Bonus gift card is printed on the receipt after the purchase (in Webstore v1).
        - Bonus gift card details are sent in an email (in Webstore v1 and v2).

How are commissions calculated on the bonus gift cards?
Commissions for bonus gift card are calculated same way as the zero priced gift card purchase. Refer to What are Free Services in Zenoti for details.

How is the redemption processed for a bonus gift card?
Bonus gift card can be redeemed same like a regular gift card. Refer to Redeem a Gift Card for details.

Guest purchased a gift card using prepaid card. Will the guest receive a bonus gift card?
There are two possible cases:  

  • Full amount paid through prepaid card: If the guest paid entire invoice amount through prepaid card, the guest will not be eligible for a bonus gift card. 
  • Partially paid through prepaid card: The guest may receive a bonus gift card on a condition that the pre-taxed total price of the gift cards (after deducting all the discounts, including the partial payment made through prepaid card), is within the range of promotion rules for Minimum and Maximum price.  Let’s see an example. Assume you have created a gift card promotion ‘Summer Sale’ that offers:      
             i. $10 bonus card for gift cards priced at $301 to $500    
            ii. $15 bonus card for gift cards priced at $501 to $700    
           iii. $25 bonus card for gift cards priced at $701 to $1000
    A guest purchased two gift cards of pre-tax price $200 and $320 in a single invoice, and paid $20 using the prepaid card. In this case, the guest receives a bonus card worth $10.  

What are the reports that Show Bonus Gift Card Details?
Following reports  show bonus gift cards details: 

  1. Liability - Gift Cards: Use the report to track the bonus gift cards by value or price. Bonus gift cards always show zero price. 
  2. Marketing Reports: Gift Card Details, Gift Card Expirations (General), Gift Card Redemptions, and Gift Card: Balance as on Date reports have a Type column that shows ‘Bonus’ for bonus gift cards.
  3. Gift Card Sales Report: Shows promotion name of the bonus gift cards.
