To be VAT ready, you must ensure that all the services, products, memberships, packages, and gift cards you offer are associated with the VAT rate (tax group). This ensures that the right tax group is applied to invoices at the time of taking payment.

  • Product transfers

To assign a tax group for a service

  1. Ensure that you are at the organization level.
  2. Navigate to Admin > Resources > Services > Select the service name.
    The Edit Service Page opens.
  3. Click the Price tab and verify the Tax Group assigned to the center. 
  4. If required, choose the applicable Tax Group from the Select Tax Group drop-down list. 
  5. Click Save.
    The new tax group will apply on any new sale of the service.

To update the tax group for other services, repeat steps 2 to 5.

After you update the tax group for all your services, you can verify if all your services have a tax group assigned.

To verify if each of your service has a tax group assigned:

  1. Ensure you are at the organization level.
  2. Navigate to Admin > Resources > Services.
    The Manage Services widow opens.
  3. From the sequence of export icons, click the Excel icon (with an underline) to export the list of services with the pricing and tax association details.  
    The services report downloads and you can use to verify if all the services have a tax group assigned.

To assign a tax group for a product

  1. Ensure that you are at the organization level.
  2. Navigate to Admin > Resources > Products > Select the product name.
    The Edit Product Page opens.
  3. Click the Price tab and verify the Tax Group assigned to the center.
  4. If required, choose the applicable Tax Group from the Select Tax Group drop-down list. 
  5. Click Save.
    The new tax group will apply on any new sale of the product.

To update the tax group for other products, repeat steps 2 to 5.

After you update the tax group for all your products, you can verify if all your products have a tax group assigned.

  1. Ensure you are at the organization level.
  2. Navigate to Admin > Resources > Products.

    The new tax group will apply on any new sale of the package.

To update the tax group for other packages, repeat steps 2 to 5.

To assign a tax group for gift cards and memberships

  1. Ensure that you are at the center level.
  2. Navigate to Admin > Organization > Centers > Select the center name.  
    The Edit Center page opens.
  3. Click the Tax Groups tab.
    A list of default tax groups defined for your organization displays.
  4. Select the applicable tax group for Gift Cards and Memberships.
    Note
    : You can select only one tax group for these items.
  5. Click Save.
    The new tax group will apply on any new sale of gift cards and memberships.

To assign a tax group for a product transfer

In a multi-center setup, you may require to transfer products between centers to cater to demands and shortages of products. In such situations, you create a transfer order between centers.
You must review if your products are assigned to the appropriate tax group during transfers.

To assign a transfer tax group for a product:

  1. Ensure that you are at the organization level.
  2. Navigate to Admin > Resources > Products > Select the product name.
    The Edit Product Page opens.
  3. Click the Price tab and verify the Transfer Tax assigned to the center for the product.
  4. If required, choose the applicable Tax Group from the Select Tax Group drop-down list. 
  5. Click Save.
    The new tax group will apply on any new transfer of the product.

To update the transfer tax group for other products, repeat steps 2 to 5.
