This article addresses frequently asked questions on BBPOS, E355, and Miura.


1. Why am I seeing a Bluetooth scan timeout error? 

     You get the Bluetooth scan time out error if any of the following is true:
       a. If the Chipper 2X BT card reader is not connected correctly.
          Solution: Turn off the Chipper 2X BT card reader, wait for few seconds, turn it
          on, and tap Retry.
      b. If the Serial number on the card reader is not matching with the one you
          entered in the Terminal Settings.
          Solution: Ensure you have entered correct serial number in the
          Terminal settings (Serial number will be on the back side of the card
      c. If you are trying to connect with more than one iPad at the same time.
          Solution: You can connect your Chipper 2X BT card reader to only one iPad
          at a time.
      d. If the card reader is not able to access your location.
          Solution: On the iPad,
                i. Go to device Settings of the iPad (not the Settings in Zenoti Mobile) >
                   Select Zenoti Mobile > tap Location. 

               ii. For Allow Location Access, select one of the two options: While Using
                   the App or Always. 

2. I'm unable to process payments using Chipper 2X BT card reader. Is there a
    way to complete payments?

    If none of the above solutions to fix the timeout work then, switch to Verifone
    card reader to collect payments. From the list of card readers in Zenoti web or
    Zenoti Mobile, select Verifone card reader and process the payment. If Verifone
    also fails, you can process card payments manually.

3. Can I connect my card reader with another iPad?    
    You can connect your Chipper 2X BT card reader to only one iPad at a time.
    To disconnect the card reader, do the following:
    1. Tap Settings icon in Zenoti Mobile and tap Connected Card Readers.
       The number of the connected device appears. Click info icon against the
       device number.
       Note: The card reader's device number and the info icon appear only when at
       least one transaction was completed after pairing the card reader with the
       iPad. Just pairing the device is not enough to see that in the Connected card
       readers list.    

      Stripe terminal screen appears.
  2. Tap Disconnect the card reader.     

    The card reader is disconnected. Now, you can connect with another reader.

4. How can a guest enter the PIN in BBPOS device?
    Guests can swipe the credit cards that do not require PIN to make payments.
    BBPOS can process the payments only from the credit cards that do not require

5. Why am I not able to process a debit card payment?
    Chipper 2X BT card reader can process debit card payments only if the debit
    card allows credit transactions and does not require the guest to enter a PIN.

6. Can we use the BBPOS device when charging the device?

E355 and Miura

1. How do I place an order for the hardware?
   You can place an order for the hardware from our online store.

2. The card reader that I received does not seem to be working.
The card reader is not activated by default. After you receive your card reader,
    you must send an email to with the serial number
    of the Miura card reader and request for activation.

3. How many units of each hardware item do I require?
    We suggest one card reader for each cash register. If your business has a high percentage of stored cards, you may require fewer card readers.

4. Do I have to purchase the hardware that you’ve recommended?
The Miura Credit Card Reader is required. We highly recommend that you
    purchase the Miura card reader stand that we’ve tested.

5. Is there a recommendation on the iPad size?
Yes, we recommend that you use an iPad that is at least 9.7 inches or bigger.

6. Is there a recommendation on the receipt paper needed for the Miura printer?
Yes, we recommend that you use receipt paper of size 80mm.

7. Do I have to purchase your recommended card reader stand?
We highly recommend you purchase the card reader stand, as it provides a
    constant power supply. The battery life on a single charge is approximately 3
    hours. If you choose not to purchase the card reader stand, you can charge the
    card reader with a Micro USB charger.

8. Do I require the Miura hub?
The hub is used to connect your receipt printer to the cash drawer. This is only
    required if you want the register to open when accepting a cash payment
    through the mobile POS.

9. How do I setup the hardware?
For setup instructions, please refer to Set Up Zenoti Payments. The
    setup document will walk you through how to configure Zenoti to turn Zenoti
    Payments on, pair the card reader and printer to your iPad and how to process
    your first transaction.

10. What is sleep mode for my card reader?
If the Miura card reader is running on battery, it disconnects it’s Bluetooth    
      connection to the iPad after 4 minutes of inactivity to conserve power. This is
      referred to as sleep mode.You can wake the card reader from sleep mode by
      pressing the green button at  which time it will automatically try to reconnect
      with its paired iPad.

11. What are the configurations supported by the Miura card reader?
     The Miura card reader supports the following configurations:
        - Connect the Miura card reader to an iPad or an Android table and use the  
          setup as a fully mobile-enabled solution that also allows you to email
          receipts to your guests. You can also optionally choose to connect the Miura
          POSzle printer to print receipts.
        - Use as a mirrored solution
. Mirror mode allows you to set up a customer      
          facing, payment kiosk. Your front desk staff use their desktop computers to
          create an invoice and accept payments, while the guest is able to review the
          invoice on an iPad (that is connected via Bluetooth), and enter their tip and

Zenoti Payment Questions

1. Are all cards charged the same rate?
   Yes, all credit cards including VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express
   are charged the same transaction fee.  

2. Can I walk around with the iPad (Mobile POS)?
Yes, our mobile POS is designed to empower your staff to walk around your
    center. You can add retail items, add services and add-ons for the guest from
    anywhere. If the guest’s card is already on file, you can also close out the
    transaction using the Mobile POS.

3. What is the “Mirror” mode for your Mobile POS?
The mirror mode allows you to set up a customer facing, payment kiosk. In this
    mode, your front desk uses their desktop computer to perform the transaction,
    while the guest can see the invoice items and total due amount on an iPad that
    faces them.The guest’s experience on the iPad in mirror mode includes the
    ability to: review the invoice, select a tip amount, pay by swiping or inserting
    their credit or debit card.
