This report shows the details about gift card liabilities that your business started with, accrued, redeemed, expired, and the balance that will be carried forward in the book of accounts for a time period.

Navigation

  1. Navigate to the Reports tab and click Try the New Version.

The Reports Dashboard appears.

3. Search for and open the report.
The Gift Cards Liability report opens in a new tab.

4. Depending on the requirement, select the desired filters.
Note: You can view the report only for all the centers you have access to.

5. Click Refresh.
The report is generated based on the selected filters.

  • Value: the value of the gift cards

Lets you select the date range for which you want to view the report.

Additional Information

Center Name

The name of the center in which the gift card was sold.

Opening Balance

The balance amount of gift cards that is carried forward from the previous accounting period.

Accrued/Sold

The amount of liability that is generated from the sale of gift cards.

  • If Liability Type is Value
    The amount of liability is the value of the gift card.
  • If Liability Type is Sale Price
    The amount of liability is the sale price of the gift card.

Redemptions

The amount of liability that is redeemed on the selected day or during the time period (from the Date filter).

  • If Liability Type is Value
    The amount redeemed is the value of the gift card.
  • If Liability Type is Sale Price
    The amount redeemed is based on the sale price of the gift card.

Suspense

If the gift card is for one-time-use, this column shows the unused balance on the gift card.

Since the unused balance cannot be redeemed by the guest, the unused balance must be considered as a revenue to the business.

For example, a one-time-use gift card is sold for $400 and the guest purchases a product worth $300 using the gift card, the remaining $100 is the Suspense amount.

Expired

The amount of liability that expired on the selected day or time period (from the Date filter).

  • If Liability Type is Value
    The amount expired is the value of the gift card.
  • If Liability Type is Sale Price
    The amount expired is based on the sale price of the gift card.

Closing Balance

The balance amount of gift cards that is carried forward to the next accounting period.
