A tag collects event information from triggers and variables to send the same data back to Google servers. You can see this information reflected in Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. 

You need to create the following tags in the Google Tag Manager:

  1. Step 1 - Service Listing
  2. Step 2 - Book Appointment Button
  3. Step 3 - Confirm Booking Button
  4. Step 4 - Thank You

To create the service listing tag

  1. Log in to Google Tag Manager.
    Google Tag Manager dashboard opens. 
  2. Select Tags in the side menu.
  3. Click New.
    Untitled Tag page appears. 
  4. Enter the name of the tag as Step 1 Service Listing.
  5. Click the Tag Configuration.
    Set the following configuration:
    a) Tag Type: Google Analytics - Universal Analytics.
    b) Track Type: Event
    c) Category: Funnel Events
    d) Action: Step 1
    e) Label: Viewed Service Listing
    f) Value: Leave it blank
    g) Non-Interaction Hit: True
    h) Google Analytics Settings: Select New Variable > Set the variable name as           Analytics id > Enter your Google Analytics Tracking Id > Click Save.
        You can see {{Analytics id}} in the Google Analytics Settings dropdown.
    i) Select {{Analytics id}}.  
    j) Select the Enable Overwriting Settings in this Tag checkbox.
    k) Tracking ID: Inherited from settings variable.
    l) Enable Enhanced Ecommerce Features: True.
    m) Read Data from Variable: Service Listing. (This is the first variable that you create). 
  6. Scroll down to see the Trigger section. 
  7. Click the Trigger icon.
    Choose a Trigger page opens.
  8. Select Home Page as the trigger. 
  9. Click Save.
    The Service Listing tag is created.

To create the book appointment button tag

  1. Select Tags in the side menu.
  2. Click New.
    Untitled Tag page appears. 
  3. Enter the name of the tag as Step 2 - Book Appointment Button.
  4. Click the Tag Configuration.
    Choose Tag Type page appears.
  5. Select the tag type as Google Analytics - Universal Analytics.
  6. Select the Track Type as Event.
    Under Event Tracking Parameters select the following:
    a) Category: Funnel Events
    b) Action: Step 2
    c) Label: Click on Book Appointment


         d) Value: Leave it blank
         e) Non-Interaction Hit: True
         f) Google Analytics Settings: {{Analytics id}}  
         g) Select the Enable Overwriting Settings in this Tag checkbox.
         h) Tracking ID: Inherited from the settings variable.

 6. Navigate to More Settings > E-Commerce.
     E-Commerce settings appear.
 7. Set Enable Enhanced E-commerce Features as True.
 8. Select Book Appointment Button in the Read Data from Variable dropdown.
 9. Scroll down to see the Trigger section.
10. Click the Trigger icon.
      Choose a Trigger page opens.
 11. Select Click on Book Appointment as the trigger.
 12. Click Save.
       The Book Appointment Button tag is created. 

To create confirm booking button tag

  1. Select Tags in the side menu.
  2. Click New.
    Untitled Tag page appears. 
  3. Enter the name of the tag as Step 3 - Click on Confirm Booking.
  4. Click the Tag Configuration.
    Choose Tag Type page appears.
  5. Select the tag type as Google Analytics - Universal Analytics.
  6. Select the Track Type as Event.
    Under Event Tracking Parameters select the following:
    a) Category: Funnel Events
    b) Action: Step 3
    c) Label: Click on Confirm Booking.

        d) Value: Leave it blank
        e) Non-Interaction Hit: True
        f) Google Analytics Settings: {{Analytics id}}
        g) Select the Enable Overwriting Settings in this Tag checkbox.
        h) Tracking ID: Inherited from the settings variable.

6. Navigate to More Settings > E-Commerce.
    E-Commerce settings appear.
7. Set Enable Enhanced E-commerce Features as True.
8. Select Click on Confirm Booking in the Read Data from Variable dropdown.
9. Scroll down to see the Trigger section.
10. Click the Trigger icon.
     Choose a Trigger page opens.
11. Select Click on Confirm Booking as the trigger.
12. Click Save.
      The confirm booking button tag is created. 

To create Thank You page tag

  1. Select Tags in the side menu.
  2. Click New.
    Untitled Tag page appears. 
  3. Enter the name of the tag as Step 4 - Thank You.
  4. Click the Tag Configuration.
    Choose Tag Type page appears.
  5. Select the tag type as Google Analytics - Universal Analytics.
  6. Select the Track Type as Event.
    Under Event Tracking Parameters select the following:
    a) Category: Funnel Events.
    b) Action: Step 4.
    c) Label: Thank You.

        d) Value: Leave it blank
        e) Non-Interaction Hit: True
        f) Google Analytics Settings: {{Analytics id}}
        g) Select the Enable Overwriting Settings in this Tag checkbox.
        h) Tracking ID: Inherited from the settings variable.
6. Navigate to More Settings > E-Commerce.
    E-Commerce settings appear.
7. Set Enable Enhanced E-commerce Features as True.
8. Select Thank You page in the Read Data from Variable dropdown.
9. Scroll down to see the Trigger section.
10. Click the Trigger icon.
      Choose a Trigger page opens.
11. Select Thank You page as the trigger.
12. Click Save.
      The click on confirm booking tag is created.
