At times, guests may wish to gift a service to a family member or a friend and may want to keep it as a surprise. Instead of purchasing a gift card therefore, the guest may choose to book an appointment for their loved one (the recipient) and pay for it. Guests will also prefer that you do not send any SMS or email about such appointments to the recipient (as this will ruin the surprise).
Zenoti provides a way for the front desk to mark appointments as surprise visits. For such appointments, Zenoti does not send out the regular communication (SMS/emails) to the recipient such as the appointment confirmation and the appointment reminder.

Before You Begin
You can book surprise visits only if your organization has enabled this feature. Contact Zenoti Support to enable this feature for you.
To book surprise visits
- In the Appointment Book, select the date for which you want to book the appointment, and then click the Booking Wizard icon.
The Booking Wizard opens.
2. Select the Surprise Visit checkbox and follow the usual steps to book the appointment.
3. Specify the name of the guest who is the host.
Note: Normally, the host pays for the Surprise Visit. However, Zenoti does not mandate that only the host should pay for the visit - the host or the guest (for whom the surprise visit is booked), can pay.
4. Add the services and other details for the appointment, as required.
5. Click Save.
The appointment appears on the Appointment Book with an icon that indicates that it is a surprise visit.
Note: In case the recipient rebooks such a service, Zenoti marks such a rebooked appointment as a regular appointment (and not as a Surprise Visit).
Administrators and owners can find a list of appointments that were Surprise Visits during a given time frame from the Is Surprise (Yes/No) column of the Appointment Details report.
